YES THANK YOU ommmggg. I try to point this out so often xD, it's very hard to. I didn't know how to feel about Papyrus the first time (Because he doesn't have much in a murder run lol) but after I did a neutral run and called him all through the underground I started to really like him. He's such a great and mysterious character!

So you noticed, too! People act like Papyrus hates puns and Sans loves them, but Papyrus actually makes approximately as many puns as Sans, if not more, and he weaves them more naturally into his dialogue. I get the impression that it isn't puns Papyrus hates; it's the QUALITY of Sans' puns, which is probably deliberately bad whenever he's in Papyrus' presence because he loves annoying his brother.

Yeah I've known for ages xD, I think I made this one just because there's a lot of people that don't know that Papyrus knows, or even likes puns. When he gets mad at Sans's puns, he says that it's because he shouldn't be slacking off, so I doubt it's the puns when it's more likely he doesn't like his brother being a slackass xD. Considering he has to do all the home chores, I can understand his annoyance omfg, poor paps.

Could be both, haha. First he's being a slackass, then instead of taking Papyrus' complaints seriously, he's making a joke of it. A BAD joke that doesn't live up to Papyrus' high standards, no less!

Both are canon for me.
Sans does get proud when Papyrus does a pun, But Papyrus also likes his and Sans's puns.
He just gets annoyed by Sans doing way too many puns. (To hide his crippling depression.)
How I potray Sans and Papyrus are simple:
Papyrus can fight and he does know swearwords, but he doesn't like swearing and he doesn't use them or want people to use them. He can also fight, As Undyne said ''He's really frickin though!'', He just wants to end conflicts in a peaceful manner instead of going all-out violence, He may sometimes be goofy but that's just Papyrus.
Sans is basically a lazy badass, If you hurt his loved ones, He will kick your a-- to the next dimension, He knows about everything, He is the Jury and the Judge and the Executor, He may not be the strongest monster, but he sure as hell is the most or atleast one of the most intelligent monsters, I mean hell he uses his attacks in the most clever way we have seen and is the only person who can actually think of dodging attacks instead of standing still in the game. (I guess Lancer boi also dodges but that's Delta Rune, Possibly a different timeline.) He is also over-protective at times and honestly unforgiving. If he knows you have commited sins, He won't ever ACTUALLY forgive you. If he's had enough of your s-!, He sure as hell can turn into your worst nightmare.
Overall, These two are still my favourite duo in all of history.

Yeah, the fandom also usually portrait Papyrus like he has some kind of maturational delay. I've seen a lot of fandom stories with Sans treating his bro like a toddler,  trying to avoid that Paps hear an insult, even the word ´´sexy´´.

I'm mostly annoyed at the pun thing though, there's been a lot of times in the past I've drawn Papyrus telling a pun and get told that he hates puns x_x.. ugh, he doesn't.

He tells Papyrus off for joking/slacking off at work xD, he does groan and get annoyed at puns, but I find his playful reaction a lot better than Sans ignoring his puns, considering Sans doesn't notice all the really cool stuff papyrus does, it's sad D:

-The same pun isn't funny anymore

-Sans says puns in "serious" times

Yup! It was heavily based on the first encounter/pun xD, I didn't notice that pun at first (or well, I figured he was saying it to tease Sans's puns and didn't mean he liked them but then the phone calls happened and I'm rambling ANYWAY)
I think I noticed the first pun with the "cardboardhydrates" one, that one blows me away at how creative it is xD
