I think it looks great the way it is, but to be honest the sketch will probably have a better score. This one is really well draw but I think the sketch  really excels at portraying a sense of emptiness/loneliness.

i think it's mostly due to the LARGE space the empty background take :T

welli could do an "overly oppressive" background to the second too... mhh.... would it really make it better i'm not sure.... e_e

True, a lot of things contribute to it. The large empty space, the rays of light shining on her, her pose and expression, the lack of clothes, the crown being on the ground.

I can't say for sure, and sadly my poor english prevents me from giving a better explanation, sorry about that

maybe i'll re-draw the sketch better...

one person can't get two difference place in the contest even with manys entry right ? so it would be a waste of time....

I'm pretty sure some people will be a little angry with my decisions, there are a couple entries that are really well draw but don't have much to do with the theme. Don't worry, while the art is one of the things I'll judge there are other things as well such as the theme and creativity, so the fact that it's a sketch doesn't mean too much.

yeah i saw a few piece that are well draw but where like... "smiling and cheery" i was like... did the person read the theme ? xD

i see i see, well, i might re-draw the sketch, i'll make sure to notify you if i do, but it's not sure as i spend already to much time on the other version of the entry x_x ...
