I guess everyone calls her Sarada just to not have to say Salad

We call her like that because that's her name, which is actually a kind of pronunciation of "saraswati"'s name in Japan who is a hindu goddess like how Indra is a god in the same mythology.
Oh and there is no "L" letter in Japanese BTW.
