Blushing Red was supposed to be a simple and quick painting, but it took me almost 3-1/2 months to finally complete it. I started to stall when my Wacom pen broke. I also had a few trips out of town, then somehow the inspiration to paint evaporated. Last week, my sister gave me the push I needed to finish this painting.
The portrait is a blushing bride wearing the traditional Chinese dress and a red veil. I felt rusty after the long break. It's not as refined as I would have liked, but nevertheless, it has became one of my personal favorites. Reference Used.

This is so beautiful....her eyes ...you can see the happiness and love in them. The colors are crisp, the detail is just right...sometimes the ones we leave and have to keep making ourselves come back to end up being our best...I had a few just like you described. I love this one!

Beautiful job, but she doesn't seem to be blushing to me...even a bit forward. I would think a blushing bride's eyes would be cast down to one side or the other with a faint glow on the cheeks. But I faved this piece because I like it a lot for what it is, not what the title says. Thanks, Rick
