The day had started like any other. She and Eigel had plans to meet up and take a stroll in the territory, but something was different today. Normally she enjoyed Eigel’s company and they could chat for hours, but this time Eigel was doing most of the talking.

Her mind and thoughts were not with her today. She barely listened to what Eigel was telling her, and she was feeling reckless. Just as Taegan and Eigel had shared their feelings that night, some new feelings had been reawaken within Taegan’s heart. Some she hadn’t felt for a long time.

She had felt it once before back when she was just a pup. Would what she had with Eigel become a repeat of her mother's story?

They met another Tephe wolf on the stroll, and Eigel and the other wolf began to chat, Taegan was zooming out and didn’t follow the conversation. She realized what feeling it was that was haunting her…

“Right, Tae?” Eigel’s words were finally piercing though, and she looked at him a bit confused, but his smile gave her a warm feeling “Yeah… right” and she made a small crooked smile.

It was clear to her now… she felt fear.
