You're not asking for politeness or courtesy, you're trying to run the world. Not unlike those companies that try to get anything they have special rights to removed from YouTube channels they don't have control over.

Yup, you saw right through me.
Wanting to be credited for my work and not wanting my work taken into a context that could damage the models reputation is actually the first step in my plan of world domination.
The second is a quick wank-cry

Think about this: Does the right of privacy clash with the right of expression?

If the expression infringes on privacy, then yes

You'd trade away your freedoms for privacy? You don't see that going wrong?

Art thieves in general from my knowledge, just don't care because they seek to harm people...

Agreed - and sometimes its down to ignorance, they don't see a problem with what they are doing, as well as some unwarranted feeling that they deserve things. A lot of art thieves I've come across seem to have the opinion that art should be free - and yes, art is free (to view and enjoy in galleries and sites like this) but not to exploit and ignore the artists rights!
All they are doing is harming the future of artwork!
Thanks

It's ok, but can you put the P.S thing next to it? Obviously anyone on Deviantart should be mature enough to just click it off, but you never know who's in the room with you.

And before people attack me, yes I read the P.S part, but I didn't read that until AFTER I looked it up.

I will always notify artists if I come across their work elsewhere, I'd like to think other people would do the same. Time these trolls got banned and dealt with more severely. Shame really it isn't easy to get their internet access terminated by ISP'S or for them to be fined heavily without the rigmarole of court battles, expense etc. Perhaps someone can create a body online that will make life very difficult for people once they are found to be stealing other peoples work, a bit like we have issues obtaining credit if we have many debts outstanding, a similar thing for the bad types of cyberspace. Sites could then subscribe to this body and use their intelligence to decide if someone is coiture to be a member of their site and to participate amicably in a community such as Deviant. Thing is what is currrently out there and are any of these organisations if they exist any good?

Online copyright breachment laws are unfortunately a blurry area. With each country having its own differing laws on the situation and the crimes tend to happen on a website based in one country, with the victim in another and the criminal in another, its not clear which jurisdiction they fall under.
Aswell as each website having its own policy. Dealing with art thieves who stole work you posted on DA and then posted it on their DA is easy to deal with, but when they then post it on other blogs/websites it gets a tad more complicated.
Recently in New Zealand (the country of my current residence), there was going to be a law change on artist's copyright. The law, as far as I know, wasn't passed due to the huge number of people speaking up against it - people who benefit from art theft (Whether music or photography), whilst artists that suffer from this fell under the minority. (the push for the law eventually fell through when the politician pushing it to be passed was caught illegally downloading music).
The people making these laws arn't artists themselves so don't understand our needs or wishes.
Dealing with thieves is a stressful and time consuming activity and it can be hard at times to differentiate fans who are just showing off work of an artist they like from those who are deliberately ignoring your rights and abusing the work.
Thanks

Hi Aaron, it is a shame the copyright law fell through in your country and like you've kindly mentioned in your message I can see why it is such a complicated process putting a stop to theft due to the nature of the web and the fact things can happen in a number of countries and locations where rules and legislation can be unclear and hard to uphold or enforce or even exist.
Just hope eventually things improve so the people who create art/photography reap the rewards and recognition they richly deserve. Thanks for feedback, is kind of you to come back to me.

No problem, thanks for the comment.
I doubt the law would have made much a difference anyway. Most people don't see it as stealing, as all the have to do is 'right click - save as', there are no security guards, cameras, or anti-shoplifting tags on the internet so it doesn't have the same feeling as actual "real life" theft.
Thanks

That's true, I like the fact we can save photos myself just I wouldn't use what I downloaded for personal gain or merit elsewhere, literally just like collecting for own enjoyment. Cheers for feedback. Byee -Mark
