this reminds me of the movie wall-e
where he's the last one left on earth
.. years of work on another planet. coming back for his one true love, whom he promised to marry when he got back. each day he made a little bit of this balloon starting from scratch. he colored the balloon red using his robot blood. and inside the balloon is a ring to propose. but he arrives back to his home planet to find nothing but ruins. his love is no more.

The robot returns from........the funfair in the country, carrying a shiny red balloon for the little girl in the city. But the little girl was nowhere to be found, and neither was the city. Silence and ruin were all that greeted the confused robot.
Kinda rubbish ending, but that was the story I thought of when I looked at this pic...Anyways, great pic. I like the 'calm after the storm' feeling it has.

What really interest me is what do you call a speed painting? How much time did it take to draw?
I like this one even better than the one I commented on by mistake : )
The atmosphere almost gives you a dark feeling, but the robot with the balloon lifts up the whole feel of the drawing. Though it looks as if he got back from a party and discovered only ruins, I trust that robot to get it all together in no time, and build his life back together again.
