Description Ok, it is finally done! I have been trying to get this picture done for quite a while now. I just haven't had time to work on it! I would get five minutes here, ten there and by the time I finally got time to work on it I didn't have the energy. Sooo it has taken me a long time to finish.

Things I know are wrong: Lots! I am probably not going to TOUCH the doilie again . . . I have already erased it completely once and redid the whole thing. So I know there is a lot wrong with the doilie, but just skip over it shall we. I know the shading on his shirt could be better and on his headband too. Over all though I am probably not touching it to do any touch ups for a while . . . if ever. Stupid doilie!

Things I like: His scarf thingie . . . I like the way it turned out hehe.

Done on charcoal paper . . . which this is the first time I used it and I don't like it. It leaves little lines all the way through the picture and that suckith. Used the usual . . . 2B-6B charcoals, kneading eraser and vinyl eraser when needed. I have no idea how long it took to finish since I didn't have time to just sit down and crank it out. Anyhow . . . Enjoy!

I think it's wonderful, Meeshy. You captured the emotion just perfectly. I also love the dark border around both figures which really makes it pop to me.

aww danke hun! I really did that kinda as an accident and then I really liked the way it looked hehe So I just ran with the darker outline ^_^

Although you based this on an image, I prefer your version (yeah, so that's flattery, but I am serious! ). It feels like art. Beautiful art. The detail is handled amazingly and yeah, sure, I can kinda tell there's a couple of things wrong, but as usual, I don't care. Your style and your skill still make up for it in the overall - in spades!

It's also more imaginative and inspirational in the way that you've done it. It makes my brain think of things, imagine things, come up with ideas. That's important about art, to me, that it inspires other artists. And yours has done that for me in the past and this one definitely has that quality.

Keep up the amazing work! You can do eeiiiitt!

I also just feel that every good piece of work deserves to be told how good it is. I don't think those of us who appreciate art really say so to the artist enough. Let alone also explaining "why" and what's so cool about it. So, you're very much welcome. You, like many other good deviants on this site, have earned the praise with your effort.

And I still really love this piece, btw.
