House and Area Search. Here you can see 2 of our 4 groups, filling out 2 of the 3 duties that we had at this exercise.

We need 2 groups to secure the outer perimeter, and make sure that none, who has got nothing to do with the House and Area Search, enters the perimeter. It is a military operation, so we have authority to deny entry for the duration of the operation. Then we have 1 group to secure the inner perimeter, to make sure people don't escape from the house, like jumping out windows. Also, the inner perimeter team will be doing Area Search. And finally the last group will be doing Person Search on the people from inside the house that we're searching, and then afterwards do the House Search itself.

In the background, near the middle trees, you can see people standing far away. They were covering our outer perimeter. Right in front of us you can see 2 people to the far left, who are security men, making sure the man who has been searched (the guy standing in the green square) does not do anything suspicious or starts attacking any of us. I was positioned as one of the six people covering the inner perimeter, whereas the remaining 7 of our group (we're the largest squad in the platoon, having a total of 14 man (13 man and our squad leader)) were doing Area Search. Our squad leader was controlling what items that the Area Search found, and said whether or not items found were of any importance.

The items we were searching for were explosives, like grenades and homemade bombs, drugs, big sums of money, intelligence etc..
