Personality:
Possessing the demeanor of a cactus, Ana is not exactly the most approachable hen. What she lacks in people skills, she makes up with a shrewd, quick mind. She is vastly intelligent, at the expense of a few key social skills. She comes off as a little too dominant and overbearing, especially in polite, day-to-day conversation. She seems highly strung, or wound too tight- like she isn't quite sure how it is she's supposed to relax- perhaps due to a need to constantly be busy.

The hen places a high value on useful skills and knowledge over pretty trinkets (although she does love pretty trinkets), and she attempts to absorb all knowledge available to her, again at the expense of her social life. Magic, above all subjects, interests her most, and she has devoted a lot of her time to studying it extensively. Bring up a topic she is passionate about, however, and this cactus blossoms. She'll talk for hours and hours about texts, linguistics, metalworks, and magic.

Anything else? Well... this hen is an awkward bookworm, and quite hard to coax out of her shell. She's not shy by any means, but is quite reserved around those she doesn't personally know. Plying her affection with sparkling jewels and great wealth is nearly a fool's errand. Although she does enjoy adorning herself with fine jewelry, her affection is much harder won...

History:
As the daughter of a Saraphem, Anael has known nothing but luxury since her very first day. She is a rare commodity, although her coat could be more desirable, and has grown up under the watchful, loving, and doting eye of her mother, Gavreel.

Gavreel herself was an older hen when she bore a daughter to the wealthy, and renowned mercenary in the prime of his youth, Judas, and dedicated the rest of her life to raising her first Saraphem daughter to join the ranks of the other hens protecting the Gardens. Anael was given every opportunity to better herself, receiving only the best tutors in both schooling and magic. Gavreel had seen what kind of place the world could be, and wanted Naya to be prepared.

Gavreel passed away peacefully in her sleep shortly before Anael's ninth birthday, and she is still grieving her mother's loss. She keeps Gavreel's tiara in her room, and wears some of her jewelry to remember her by.

She shares a very healthy and loving relationship with her father, and is glad to spend all day with him on his brief visits. He lavishes her with gifts he knows she adores, like intricate jewelry, books, and pottery that he acquires through trade and barter in the markets. He spins her wild tales of hunting giant scorpions and battling enemies, filling her head with dreams of adventure and intrigue... and love.

Judas is a romantic, and he constantly tells Anael of how he wooed her mother not only through wealth, but through sweet words and time spent together. She adores these stories more than anything, and begs for their constant retelling. She harbors a secret desire to fall in love like her parents did, and enjoy the simple pleasure of a relationship like theirs.
