Description Okay if anybody from the group remembers #The-Taskhouse 's second task, you might remember that I didn't take part.

... But in reality, I did, I just never posted it.

Probably because it turned from a character design to a comic.

I know it doesn't make sense in the end, but I kind of just cut it short because I moved on... .. But I actually really like how he turned out.

His name is Deer Lord... which basically comes from an inside joke that came to be in drama class.

He only is composed of four base colors, like The Taskhouse design thing suggested.

It says no explanation of anything, BUT I OBVIOUSLY KIND OF THREW THAT OUT THE WINDOW, I got carried away.

Pointless objects.. nah.

And he isn't really holding any non-clothing items.

His concept comes from the third character basis choice-

'3. Someone who needs to frequently move between hot and cold environments without changing their clothing/equipment.'

With that as a guideline, I started thinking of extremes of hot and cold... I'm from the south, so just about anything north is cold to me, SO WHY NOT CANADA. Then, looking for the extreme of hot.. one of the very first things that came to mind was the popular outlook on how hell was suppose to be.

The rest of the design just kind of came to me while I was doodling in art class.

(THE TEACHER CAME OVER AND ASKED ME IF I HAD GONE TO ART THERAPY BEFORE, BECAUSE I DRAW SUCH DARK THINGS.

In my head I'm like '... It's a cartoon, what are you talking about.')

So.. His whole concept isn't the most original, he's a demon from hell that's been released into earth to go and make.. bad things happen, I guess.

He decided to live in Canada, which is probably a nice change from...y'know, hell.

Aaaaand every once in awhile, like he says in the minicomic, his parents like him to visit... 'like him to visit' meaning /make/ him visit, via dragging him down from wherever or whatever he was doing.. down to hell.

Sometimes to just visit and chat (The Lords are a very together oriented family) and sometimes for Dee to get his next assignment, which can span from kicking a puppy from burning a house down with lemons.

Whenever he's under for long periods of time, he goes to visit his brother, who unlike Dee, decided to stay in hell and work from there.

I haven't named his brother, but he's pretty much the origin of ever single computer problem that could be imagined. He loves his job.

Dee... Enjoys his job to some extent, but doesn't want to be stuck doing what he does forever.

...AND THAT'S THAT.

Next time we do a "revisit an old task" thing, you should bring this in and get it critiqued

Really now? It's an unfinished thing but I'd actually love to come back to Taskhouse C: I'll think on that - next time I see that there's a meeting I'll stop by C:

Words cannot describe how incredibly cool and awesome this is. Of course, I have a small (OK rather sizable) obsession ACADEMIC INTEREST in the devil/representations thereof. In my Medieval Latin class we were being assigned passages to do annotations on, and the prof was giving a summary of the various passage and then whoever raised their hand first got that passage. As it happened, there was a passage about the devil, and as soon as he said "devil" my hand shot up so fast. And everyone laughed, and the prof made a joke about this saying a lot about me. Which it kind of does, I suppose.

Anywho. Like I already said, this totally floats my boat. And the fact that it is well thought out and the coloring and style are well suited for the piece just put the cherry on the top.

Haha, that's awesome! Then I guess this was perfect, even though it's more of a comical view on the devil, demons, ect. I'm glad you enjoyed it c:

Hey, comical views are totally cool. There's this one poem I really love called "Hell in Texas" about how the devil got bored with hell and bartered with God to get some land to start up his own hell. Turns out the land was Texas...and it goes from there. It's pretty epic. It's an anonymous poem, and pure gold. Probably shouldn't read it if you're a rabid Texas fan, though. It kind of pokes fun.

I enjoyed it immensely. I'm glad you posted it!
