I really get the feeling of passing across another world, indeed. Naturally, the capture help a lot at stimulating my creativity. But, it's also make sense because it's simply close to the truth, let me explain. You see, that girl, nicely dress by the way, is traveling between two states in that picture.
First, it's depicted by the lightning effect. At the right, the tone is more platonic and darker than in the left, right? So, we can say, with a certain certitude, that she's going toward something, toward a goal that is represented by the left side and by the saturation of the light.
Secundo, there is also a physical barrier to it. As you can see, the picture is nearly empty on the right and surchaged on the left. The disposition of the matter in the picture then create a effect of frontier that the girl seems to cross lightly.
So, maybe it's a metaphor for the state of mind, only the girl knows since we can't see her face. But that doesn't mean we cannot tell a lot about her possible feeling, right? Then again, maybe it's a representation of the passing of the season? Or more simply, we can also advance that otherland just meant vacation or travelling, right?
