I've been done and done with school since May. Glad of it too because 6 years is enough, lol. I am trying to get everything sorted out so I can go and storm the world! Thank you for the compliments on the Kappa. He's one of my favorites and has been guarding the living room. I wish I could make more of him.

The perspective very well could be off. I was having trouble placing it since the vantage point is in so close. Thanks for pointing it out; I haven't done much perspective work. I do tend to go pretty heavy on the lips and eyelashes on everyone, male or female, just for aesthetic purposes. I don't really consider them inherently feminizing features.

Do his lips really look overdone in this shot? I thought they were scaled pretty well to the rest of his features.

well, i never do the lips, but if it is in your style then it is all okay.its just that someone who is not familiar with your drawing style might find this awkward at the beginning. but ive seen much pro mangakas having similar things in their drawing style.

by the way, are you going to participate in the contest were holding?

Now that you mention it, I did see the description for that contest and it looks like a wonderful concept. I'd really like to enter if I have the time. I'm starting school soon, so I don't know if I'll have the time, but I definitely want to try. I'll see how it goes.

If I can't enter myself, I could probably at least donate a prize, if you need it. I could say, do a drawing request of the characters for the winner's manga or something like that.

XD I'm studying illustration at Academy of Art University, which is in San Francisco, but I'm taking the classes online, so I don't actually have to go nowheres. How about you? This your last year at UPark, isn't it? How's all that going?

It's too early to tell If I need to maim/kill any of my professors yet. I'm taking Japanese 120: History of Japanese Lit. taught by the head of the Japanese department (go figure). Fortunately the class doesn't require any proficiency in Japanese, but we're learning some basic things for context. The next three semesters (I have to take an extra semester because of issues with tuition that lost me an entire semester back in my freshman year agggh), will be filled with papers, research and random classes to fill in extra credits. I'm a Psych major btw lol. Considering I/O Psych, or personality/behavioral as my main focus of study, and I'd like to pick up a minor in something. Maybe. Yay for those online classes! I'd be curious to see how they teach something like Illustration via the internet, I guess something similar to YouTube tutorials?
Unrelated humorous note: PSAO's manga library continues to expand and somebody donated Yaoi manga. Too much lulz.

Oh God, I can't believe you lost a whole semester. That is just beyond ghey... Let me know how the Japanese lit thing goes. I wish I could've taken a course like that. I'm sure it'll be good. That's taught by Iwami-sensei, right? Do you have a lot of electives in a certain area that you think you could get a minor with? I've been spoiled the last few semesters because I didn't have too many papers to write most of the time, thanks to my studios. I honestly have no idea how the online will work yet. I know the can upload downloadable videos and other media, so maybe something like that. I guess I'll see in a few days... :/

Lol, of course someone donated yaoi manga... RIGHT AFTER I LEFT!!! You should have group readings of it during club. XD
