nope, they are not related. Wonder Woman is an amazon from Themyscira (an island with only amazons) and I think Cassie's mother is human and her father is the god Zeus (if I remember correctly) ^^

I hope they make live action which is compareable to the animated ones. In terms of acting, story and effects. And casting. I think they should be open to fancasts you know? Since the fans are the ones who want it the most, and they're the main market.
