Description A volunteer cover for Elfwood's monthly e-zine, for April 2004. I like the way this came out, not least because of the water (somewhat cut off in this scan) which was done in watercolor and actually looks like water. The faces aren't too bad, either, having been touched up a little with marker for the fine detail.
Incidentally, these guys are genderless. For some reason, most people assume the pink one is female and the black one is Snape.

I know that this is one of your favorite pictures (at least it was when you first finished it), but it always left me feeling a little flat. I think it's because the lack of vibrancy and contrast. I think it would have been better with a little more definition between light and shadow, although some of that could be how it was scanned. The composition is nice, though.

The dark angel does look more male than the light angel; I think it's because of how recessed the eyes seem and the larger chin. (These people think Snape's a lot more handsome than he actually is, if they think this angel looks like him).

Awesome job!
The only thing I can really say is that you really lose definition as to what the background is, as well as the wings, on the lighter half of the image. Though that probably is from the scanner.
A favorite for sure! I especially love how you did the dark wings.
