Hyperdimension Neptunia started out as a game series a few years back, and despite its low ratings managed to become a bestseller. Two more sequels were later made, which was set in an alternate reboot of the first game because the original's ending left no room for a sequel. An anime adaptation was released just recently, having three episodes so far.
It's crazy random. There are "goddesses" in their weird excuse for a world, each one being a moe anthropomorphization of game consoles. images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__c…

It's like this whole series is made on drugs or something. The randomness kinda reminds me of Adventure Time. @_@
I sorta hate it for not taking a lot of things seriously, but the characters are just so fun and there's a huge f*ckton of references towards other games, movies, anime, etc. that make it so enjoyable.
Beware of the second game though. It's a lot darker than any other title from this series. Heck, its Bad Ending was seriously heartwrenching. ;_;
