Going with a piece I did a little while back on Tumblr in effort to resuscitate my gallery by pitiful breaths. |D

Gertrude resulted from a segue I had in a conversation with a friend sometime back. Thought it'd be fun to make an “urban” shaman - basically, someone who could utilize the filth and grime of their surroundings as their elements.

And so, I made her. A bag lady on the slightly schizophrenic side, she draws primal energies out of elements in the city itself (such as asphalt, concrete, sewer water, etc) and uses the junk she collects off the streets as her totems. Her faithful spirit companion manifests as a cockroach, who she refers to as “Chester”.

Those things on her feet are arch supports, by the by. Not that they’ll help much with how poor the state of her body is. |D
