Description Name day present for my mother, Eva.

Though Eve's story is sometimes remembered only as one of failure and suffering, through Christ (the new Adam) and Mary (the new Eve) it ultimately ends in joy, showing us that it's never right to despair. Through Eve's disobedience humanity got original sin, but through Mary's ability to receive God's will we (and with us, Eve) received God's immesurable mercy, love and forgiveness. Having known both devastating sin and God's overwhelming mercy, I believe both Adam and Eve are able to intercede for all of us in a very special way.

Inspired by this and this image.

I love this piece so much and it really speaks to my heart in a deep way because I fail so much and so much Eve, but Mother Mary is always helping me back up and safely into her Son's arms again and I love her so much β™₯

Love the snake around Eve's ankle and Mary finally stepping on it. Β Genesis 3:15 come full circle.

So many nice touches... Β The "tree" motif on either side of Mary and Eve. Β The one bright star above them, and the star shape you have established echoes in Mary's brooch.

Also love how you have Mary placing Eve's hand on Jesus. Β What a beautiful way to express the Mother of our renewal....

We often forget how directly linked the old testament is to the new testament. Very well done.

You're right! I think it's fascinating to think about all the links and the relationship between the Old and the New Testament. Thank you for your comment!

This is a very beautiful concept, having the old and new Eves together. I really like how Mary (and Jesus) looks like she's comforting her predecessor, who looks like she's turning from despair to hope. Wonderful work!
