Here's my completed textiles project for school that I was talking about.

It's a costume for the character Gurda from Hans Andersen's, The Snow Queen. [link]

Some notes:
Each "petal" of fabric on the back represents a significant character Gurda encounters: the demon mirror, the witch's garden, the raven, the princess and prince, the robber girl, the reindeer and the snow queen. The repetition of the roses and red velvets is the memory of Kay and her mission to rescue him from the Snow Queen. There is an repeating embroidered border of the word "eternity".

It's the first costume I've designed and fully produced myself. So I'm pretty happy with that.

I hope I can get a photo shoot of this in some snow!
