Description Aaah, more elf boys from my comic. Unlike the last one [link] no one is wearing anything that will be mistaken for a dress. Also unlike the last one, this one is fairly "canon" while the other was mostly fanservice. It's a fantasy comic...so why are they in early 19th century clothing? Because men in Regency/Victorian clothing are HOT of course ^_^ (oh, and Master and Commander eating my brain again)

FULL VIEW please (I can't even see anything on the small version)

( online comic [link] livejournal community [link] )

Anatomy crits ok, but I've probably already noticed everything wrong. Does anyone else wish we could use longer deviation titles?

OMG the clothing . . . wahhh it is SO Master and Commander. I have a friend who's super into Regency/Victorian clothing, she makes it herself! You should go to her gallery. Um, I can't remember how to do the link thingie, but her name is mewgoesthecat.
I'm gonna start reading your comic! I was sold by teh gay. >___> And the art, of course.

I understand, there is definitely a lot. It took me a while to get around to it, but once you start, it's seriously as addicting as the books themselves. You'll finish the updates in days.

This is a lovely picture. The details are delightful and the characters themselves are excellently designed. Hooray for beautiful, caring men! I want someone like you to illustrate my novel ^__^

Ooo, nice inking. ^__^ As for anatomy, it does take a while to master. I still haven't mastered proportion quite yet, but I have gotten better. (When I look at my work from 2 years ago, I think, "Da~mn! What the heck was I thinking?" But when you think about it, think of the famous mangaka out there. Their work is stunning now, but when you see their older work, it was way out of proportion. It just takes years to get the look right. *How I wish I could just get it right within a year!* As from what I can see in your picture, it looks good to me~!!

I'm going to quote what you wrote above: "It's a fantasy comic...so why are they in early 19th century clothing? Because men in Regency/Victorian clothing are HOT of course ^_^ (oh, and Master and Commander eating my brain again)"

I absolutely love Victorian Era clothing & even those cool outfits from the late 1700's/early 1800's. I think that is why I love Yuki Kaori's manga series "Hakushaku Cain/God Child" so much, because it takes place in Victorian Era. If you've never heard of it, I would suggest to check it out. It has such lovely artwork. As for Master & Commander, that movie is really awesome. I love the costume's in that movie. XD

Well yeah....my old art is pretty bad

If you look at the Please Save My Earth manga which is 22 volumes the it looks like two different people drew the beginning and end. My online comic is like that. The oldest art just looks horrible >_< I wish I had time to redo some but I guess I'd rather draw new pages.

I'm tired of drawing all my manga characters in completely boring clothing while all my paintings have fancy costumes. So I decided to change all the clothes for them and start drawing more detailed stuff even if it doesn't match the earlier pages.

Oh, I haven't heard of that manga. I've probably seen art from it....but I just sold my Yuki Kaori art book. Alichino has very pretty costumes like that too^^

Oooh, yeah, I Alichino. Shurei Kouya's art is pretty amazing. She sure puts a lot of detail into it & I love Myoubi's outfits. (In fact, I'm actually going to make one of Myoubi's outfit for Anime Expo 2005. )

The detail is really nice. I do believe the tree is my favorite part :3 I also am enjoying the folds in the clothing. There is one thing bothering me about the pose: it looks like the figure laying down isn't quite resting against the seated man; it looks like he's straining to keep his back straight, and I think he should be slouching a bit more. Or maybe it's just the cape throwing me off ._.
Anyhoo, the pose, combined with the gentle and loving facial expressions, and the calm sea in the background make for a very tranquil pic. Great job

Fantastic! I like this.

And I agree, guys dressed like that are hot! And the hair....ohhh lala. Something about guys and hair, tight pants...and don't forget the tails on the coats.

If you liked Master and Commander, go watch Horatio Hornblower. Ioan Grufford - may my heart beat still. (swoon) It was done by the BBC so your library might have it and you can get it for free. There is a series of hmmm...I think 6 movies now based on C.S. Forrester Hornblower books (11 of them).

Russell Crowe is good, but hands down Grufford wins in the hot department of men in those clothes.

Forrester is infintely superior to O'Briens series. The movie is almost an entire rip off of the book Captain Hornblower as far as I'm concerned. But if you read the books you have to start with the 5th? book - Captain Hornblower. Books 5-11 are the better ones.

I love period clothing so much. Soooo much! This is gorgeous, the boys are gorgeous... I wish you painted more male faeries, too. I like boys. ^_^

And yeah, I wish we could have longer titles, and I wish we could use exclamation points in them, but I have my own theory as to why they don't let us: not allowing fifty billion exclamation points in titles makes the site look slightly more professional and slightly less teeny-bopperish 'OMG I DREW THIS!!!!!!'.

I could be wrong, there, but eh.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MeredithDillman In reply to mooncalf [2005-02-02 05:06:06 +0000 UTC]

I should! I really should paint some SEXAY male fairies ^_^ ...and Master and Commander fanart.

I get pretty annoyed that I can't even use "&" or numbers in titles!!

c'mon "OMG L@@K I drew TEH YAOI!!!" would be a great title
