A little bit of a cover concept here. Remake of Pokemon stadium for the Nintendo switch. Gives me a nice chance to repose my Charizard model and show all the sculpted detail on the back of Blastoise's shell.The oldies/gen wunners amongst you will notice that this is based off the original Pokemon Stadium cover art! You sculpted the back of that shell? Wouldn't it have been easier to make a bump map?

I don't know, would it have? I actually found it simple enough to do in zbrush, just need to be a little patient. A lot ore simple than the body scales and details.

Well, I'm relatively new to the 3D scene myself, so in my novice opinion, I believe it would be simpler- just reuse the bump map, and rotate as needed.
Then again, I'm probably not as patient as you!

The point of zbrush is that you sculpt and then create a bump map from that sculpting. Reusing bump maps is a clever enough idea, however ultimately i think that reusing elements will take away from the 'organic feel' of a 3d model. It's all about variation and imperfection.

Really nice throwback to an old game. Really hits you with nostalgia! I really love the details put into those models, a mix feel of old and new. Love how far the Franchise has come and taken places in hearts of many. I'd really wish they could remake a Pokemon Stadium game, and on Switch would be perfect for that! <3
