The lighting is just perfect and so as the contrasts. However, I would have made the tones brighter to make a more piercing effect.

the brightness issue..when there are bright parts, I think the overall soft darkness would fade. but one can always try and see of course : )

Very nicely done, I really like the way the face is hidden in this, add more mystery and intrigue to the photo than if it were showing.
