I JUST heard about this contest this morning, and the deadline is like, tommorrow!!! So, I took every spare moment I had between work, and trade school to put this together. I wish I had more time to polish it up, maybe color it, but ultimately, I'm happy with this peice! I remember drawing the original Vic allover my school notebooks when I shoulda been paying attention in class....I also remember drawing the cover on an old snare drum head one day outta the blue...my old drummer didnt wanna beat on the had anymore. I cant blame him! I've been a LONGTIME fan of Megadeth....since I first heard Countdown back in the 6th grade (1991-92), and when I first heard Peace Sells, a couple years later, I picked up a guitar and found my destiny. Needless to say, I've been lusting after these Dave custom model guitars. Dont know if I'll win...I see I got stiff competition, but hey...I figure you dont know till you try it? Besides, it'd be cool to have a small part in thiskick-ass bands history!Cheerz!

This was submitted on the 13th? I thought I saw all the entries on the 13th... I didn't see this then. Anyway, you have some nice shading on the muscles. It's a little hard to make out the writing. As a test subject, you could have that mounted on some kind of display case. I'd think it'd come off his chest. I don't like where some of those rivets are going. Looks like some are IN his eyes. Maybe that was intentional. Ew... but it's a good concept piece. I like the way the visor actually becomes the ear caps. I don't think I even thought of that. The metal jaw's an interesting twist too. Is that supposed to be a food tube on the chin? Seems kinda out of place... might work better in his neck? What is the original size on this? I'd like to see what you could do with it, given more time.

Yeah...there was ALOT of tweaking, and things I'd have done different/better if I had the time, but by the time I found out about this contest I had less than 20 hours till the deadline, plus I had work AND school all day, so I was very limited. I'm happy with it though, but I do feel its only a 'template' of what I can do with it. I toyed w/ the idea of drawing him in a glass tank w/ the reflection of the original Vic in the glass...looking on, as if he we're 'passing the torch' so to speak, but because of the pending legal issues I nixed that idea. I also wanted to make more chains coming off his body in random spots too, but for whatever reason, didnt. Your right about the feed tube...I really should have left that out. It IS kinda unneccessary, and I think it actually distracts from the jaw plate. The whole jaw plate came about cuz I wanted to take an original approach to his mouth being wired shit, and in a rough sketch I did this with barbed-wire stiches, and 2 metal sheathes bolted in on either side of his lips. I still like that idea too. I have a picture in my head of this same design, but a little different, like w/ chains going into the flesh of his arms, as if bonded to his bones, and those tethering him to a wall, in addition to a large series of wires and tubes bundled together nad attached to his spine wich would be an interface to a series of terminals, and some scientists looking on through a plexiglass window. I may go ahead and draw that up anyway, if not as a submission to this contest, but just cuz I think it'd be a kick-ass peice.
