La Llorona DG is based on Gustave DorΓ© illustrations, but adding in Edward Gorey to add a 'modern' twist. I got to see a lot of Gustave DorΓ©'s illustrations as a kid going through old books in a secondhand bookstore. Came across Gorey much later.
