Well I mean aside from the skin cancer, sun burns and the fact that Sphinx cats produce a lot of oil from the skin so they need to have baths regularly to prevent bacterial infections from growing between their skin folds. Oh yeah and many of them don't have whiskers so they cannot be allowed outside because they can get trapped and suffocate in spaces that are too tight for them.
Β A cat shouldn't need sweaters in order to survive the winter.

Hey there, this drawing was actually done as a motivational picture for someone I know who's undergoing chemo, which is why I chose to keep things positive and not turn it into a soapbox about health problems and breeding ethics.
That said, as someone who's a big animal rights advocate, I can see why you'd assume that it's attempting to handwave away legitimate issues with the breed and find that frustrating. I agree that it's a very valid thing to bring up - pointing out that extreme breeds are not all sunshine and rainbows and questioning how far breeders should be allowed to take things. Here's to passing better legislation and promoting awareness so that pets don't have to suffer.
