Description
I fall in love with soft paper for drawing postcards, so I had to do some picture on it! I used one from my lantern sketch but...what about background? All what I knew - it must be blue!

Its all about practice and using references. Draw something that you enjoy. Like an anime character or something you are used to and work from there. I started off by looking at scenes and pictures from something and trying to copy it exactly (Without tracing obviously just from looking).
Thats my tip at least.

yes it's true - about drawing something you enjoy... I'm quite busy most of the time. And when I'm free, my first thought is something what have four legs (or just colourful scenes) I draw animals what I remember... recently I'm missing skills about drawing people because of my OC, so maybe I will try in future...

wish they were real tree hanging lanterns , so that why i can hang them on my christmas tree , so overall its so awesome how you blend in all the blurred out shadings for the sky , tree , and the lanterns

The way that you drew the candles melting looks so natural and real. And then the background brings a nice contrast from the candles. All in all, it looks rally nice. ^^

This is beautiful. Oddly enough, it reminds me of warm summer nights with fireflies glowing softly and the sweet music of crickets in the grass. Which is strange because I see the pines and the blue, which should remind me of nippy winter night.
Either way, both are good, and this artwork is brilliant.
