good to see some new things from you!
The creature's eyes give off a nice glow, and the person appears to be missing a shoe... does the creature have an appetite for shoes? if so, I'll be more than hapy to givr it most of my mother's collection... they take up too much space!
I also likr thr way the rocks have been drawn, thev have a verry angular look to them.

Yeah, the first book I worked on for Paizo Publishing has been announced on their blog... Dungeon Denizens Revisited. That should be out in June.

hmmm... allright, it is an actual book right, not an E-book?
if it is an actual book, I may have interest in buying it...

Oh, no I don't think so... does Paizo do the e-book thing? I think all their products are print products...
I'd have to check into it, but I thought the price point was around 20 bucks. Not as big as a D&D Monster Manual... might be softcover... all the illos are full color... I'm guessing that if you have a gaming store near you with Wizards of the Coast Products, they'll have Paizo Pathfinder products as well.

Boy does this one just jump out and smack you in the face. Very eye-popping. The rendering style looks atypical for you. Trying something new?

Does it look atypical? Hmm.
Wolfgang made a point of asking for things being rather stylized and colorful for "Wrath of the River King." That stuck in my head and may have something to do with it.
But ultimately the process of working dark to light in multiple layers in black and white before coloring and the coloring process itself, is just the same as I ever use. I might have let myself indulge in a bit more saturated red than I usually do. I also think vertical half-pagers like this tend to stick out for that reason. It forces you into some interesting compositional choices. They used to frustrate me, but now I really enjoy working on them.

I think it was seeing your spot illo and how strokes were very subtle and hidden in it while they're more apparent in this image.
