Description Rayman was one of the first video games I ever played back in the early 90's. Sadly, compared to head video game honchos like Mario and Sonic, Rayman sort of fell off the radar for a while (and was "replaced" by those insipid Rabbids).

Now, thanks to Rayman Origins, Rayman is back in the spotlight with an quirky art style (which looks incredible) while still retaining some of the classic elements I adored so much: the Electoons, the Dick-Dastardly-looking enemies in the pith helmets, the outrageously-themed worlds, and the BZZIT/MOSKITO LEVELS! I don't really play video games anymore, but I'm so glad I took the time out to play this game! It's so much fun!

Welcome back, Rayman!

***Also, this was originally going to be just a preliminary rough sketch, which I was going to go over and ink it digitally in SAI later, but after fleshing it out a bit more, there was NO WAY that the final inks were going to look as good as my pencils, so I uploaded it as it. This was taken off my iPhone, but I'll update this with a decent scan tomorrow.***

I would, if it wasn't just for the Wii U.

You played Rayman Origins?! Oh man, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who played it.

When you get down to it, the game is brilliantly designed. It starts off easy enough for even inexperienced players to get into, but later in the game, it gets hard. REALLY hard. But it never feels unfair, and when you die, you're never set too far back. The game has a pitch-perfect difficulty curve. It's also great to finally see the tech we have now being used to make games look like cartoons. I really wish more games would look like Origins and Wario Land Shake It. And then there's the music. The Tricky Treasure music in particular is my favorite tune. Really gives the game a cartoony feel.

Wow, this was a lot longer than I thought it would be, but it's nice that an animation enthusiast like yourself, who can appreciate the small stuff in animation, has played a hilarious, well-designed game like Rayman Origins. It's also great that I can talk to you, someone who I really respect, about this little gem of a game.
