Description It's been a while, so I wanted to give a shot at throwing some art up again. I've been trying to get into the swing of drawing and posting but it's been a bit of a challenge, so I think I'm going to put up a couple of the most recent pieces I did and see how I feel before posting anything new up.

This is some art of my character Feexia, a Huldra/Huldr from Scandinavian folklore. I tried for a somewhat simple outfit that left the back open to show off the "bark-lined hole" in her back and gave room for her tail while still being fairly covering for what it was. Her hair gives enough variance of color, in my opinion, that the rather simplistic colors pallette of her outfit isn't overtly problematic.

Huldra, or Huldr, are a species of fey that are known to reside in forests. They have tails (and sometimes ears, in some stories) of cows or foxes, and have a hole in their back that reveals their insides to be hollow. This hole is lined with bark like a tree hollow, and sometimes has plants growing inside of it. In this case, Feexia has a small amount of Ivy. They dislike these traits being visible, and often attempt to hide their holes and tails with long hair or dresses. Feexia isn't that bothered about her tail- partly because it's large enough that it would be hard to hide- but she does wear her hair long to try to keep the hole from being visible.

Huldra are known to be protective of their forest homes, but also very much intrigued by human visitors. Should a hunter enter their woods and show respect to the forest and it's caretaker, a Huldra might bless their weapon to aid them in their hunt. A careless or disrespectful hunter, however, might find themselves on the receiving end of a slap from their tail with a curse that causes them to appear significantly uglier, finding themselves sent home as such. They are far stronger than they appear, often bearing strength far exceeding their size and stature to a supernatural degree, but often prefer to avoid direct confrontation.

Some stories place Huldra as a creature that will woo men and attempt to marry them, only to turn into a horrific hag after the marriage who begins to ruin the man's life... But I kinda wave that one in my concept for Feexia as a character... I won't ignore it's existence in the folklore, but I don't acknowledge it for this character's basis, and more utilize it conceptually when writing for her in role plays and the like as a "misconception" about her kind. I frequently play her as a druid in Pathfinder and Dungeons and Dragons utilizing a homebrew race I made for Huldra a while back.
