Description
This was an illustration I had done for my Art of Poetry class at my school. This type of poem, known as a concrete poem, is to be made up of words which is to then create the image it is written about. I had originally intended to submit this into literature, though I thought that I had best not do so, for I fear for the safety of my words.

This poem is about how I had once visited the Britt in Jacksonville Oregon where there had been a man who played a piece of Variations on a Theme of Paganini. It was so very moving; I was touched, and thus, I was inspired to write this.

-Coffee.
-Black, ballpoint pen.
-"Coffee" colored pencils

Lovely work, but next time I would think that the negative space should be a little clearer, so it's more obvious from a distance what it is. Also, I would have added salt to the background while the coffee wash was still wet so the violin pops a little more!

Thank you so very much for your comment. I have never thought about using salt before on the background. For the next time I am to experiment with coffee, I think that I will use it. Thank you for having told me of this technique, for it is always a pleasure to learn from others.

That's not a problem, I always try and help! It's a gorgeous thing to look at, and I was so worried in case you'd take offence! Salt's so nice to use, it makes it go all... bleedy, if that's a word!

Oh, I hand't taken offense at all; it's always nice for others to give critic and a suggestion for improvement. I think that that would be quite the interesting thing, for it sounds as though it would give quite the interesting texture towards the piece. Have you used salt in paintings before, yourself?

I have indeed, but I don't have any examples right now. Maybe I should do it for tomorrow's Daily!
