This is a design sketch of a new character of mine named, Aspen. I wanted to work with more neutral colors like rich browns in her design, with vibrant colors like violet accenting the neutrals. I also wanted to use bits of silver for trimming and leafy filigree covered buckles and jewelry. I love the color violet, and thought that white hair combined with violet eyes would be really pretty, so I used that as well. I hope you like her!

She does bear more than a passing resemblance to Iris, but I think that if she didn't wear purple you wouldn't really notice it, as her features are a completely different shape. Her costume design is beautiful though.
Your sketches are so perfect. I would feel jealous but I suspect you of being superhuman.

Brown is an awesome color. Not as standout-ish as a color like pink, but that can be a good thing. Awesome character design! -J

awesome! she only looks like Iris because she has white hair (and elven); I think she could be a great standalone character...of course anyone that knows your work is gonna have that Aspen=Iris thing but hey, more than one person can have the same hair colour lol
her face is different (that's an important note) she looks more mature and sexy~poo.

where do you get your inspiration for costume designs. And if you say you get it all from your head. ....than your sick.....lol ....kidding. Just curious. She looks cute but yeah she does look a bit too similar to Iris. Especially with the purple and white. But i really like the brown in the cloth as well as that belt.

The brown in her shirt is great, I think I like it better in brown than I would in another color. The ONLY thing--because I was specifically looking--I could see improvement with in her outfit is her belt clasp thing. It's okay that it's bulky, but it's not as fancy as the rest of the stuff. XD Her feathers are pretty, and I like her hair. 'course I like Iris's hair too. ^^" You did the cool background thing I like too, which is good. Preeeeeettttty purple eyes, she's got.

O.o OH my god, she's absolutely gorgeous Michelle!! It's seems as though she had slugged Iris right in the jaw, taken a slice of the cake, and ran of with the munnies XDDD I think you previously mentioned that brown was not a color you were very fond of (I could be mistaken though

LOL!!! Oh yeah, and that's a perfect point you made about her slugging Iris in the jaw hehe. I would definitely say that this character is somewhat more tough and packs more punch than Iris. She is going to have a thicker, more heavy sword to swing around too XD XD to do some major ass kickings ^___~ while still retaining her delicate, feminine appearance XD
