You Know, It wasn't Just a Blank that killed him, It was "dummy" cartridges with bullets in them for the close up shots of the gun which was a revolver. The Prop guys emptied the gunpowder from real bullet cartridges and placed the projectile back in but they forgot to remove the primers which ignites the remaining traces of gunpowder and jams the projectile in the middle of the barrel, Afterwards they replace the "Dummy" Cartridges with blanks, Then the blank was ignited pushes the projectile the rest of the way out of the barrel at the same speed as a regular gunshot and it hit Brandon in the abdomen mortally wounding him.
