Barney doing his best Pitiful Face. We were having a difference of opinion on whether or not he should be allowed to keep swimming in the lake. I'd called him out to warm up and dry off because after ages in the water, he was starting to look really chilly. He unfortunately gets arthritis and I didn't think staying cold and damp for hours was the best idea but Barney just thought I was being a spoilsport! He gave me sad face - until I handed over a few biscuits... after which he mostly cheered up again but I still don't think I was entirely forgiven.Related content

Awww, what a sweet face! Being in the water actually feels good for arthritic dog - and humans, as it relieves the pressure on their joints. Nice photo, do give him a hug from me, please!

Thanks! Oh yes, I like to let him swim as often & as much as possible but Barney's a bit of a silly boy (obsessive!) & would stay in the water all afternoon given the choice - not wanting to come out even after he's started shaking & shivering with cold. I have to bring him out from time to time to dry off/warm up again

Hee hee - I was just like that as a kid - my parents or one of my older siblings would have to tell me to get out of the water when my lips turned blue!
