Description
These 9 foot long parasites have earned their name. They feed on the blood of Forest Titans. They live in trees and when an unwary Titan appears they push off the bark and dig into their victims with razor sharp claws. But, before that, they fly around their prey and spit a gallon's worth of venom onto a spot on the hide or back. This venom numbs that area of the body, so when the parasite latches on, it is unnoticed. On the Titan, the parasite opens up its jaws up to 180 degrees. As they open, pharyngeal jaws with 7 inch long, black teeth, swing forwards. The parasite swings its head into the victims skin. It has a weak bite, so it can't access the blood vessels, or tear flesh. Instead, it's the tongue that shoots forwards with a radula and drills a hole into the skin. The radula is almost like a proboscis, sucking and squeezing blood into the esophagus. Over the years, the parasite will detach to find a new, healthier Titan, leaving the original host weak and close to death.
