You know, I don't think I ever got around to giving it a proper name. Probably just something like "The story of Hades and Persephone: A Retelling", at least until I could think of something better.

It's a picture book I wrote an illustrated last year for a class. You can see a few more of the illustrations floating around in this gallery, but the book never made it to fruition. At least it hasn't made it yet...

A very late congrats on finishing this project. I love how loose and painterly your style's gotten. I like the light/dark composition here with persephone's fading dress. Very pretty.

I really love your versions of these characters. So many people seem to draw Persephone as just a young girl, but you've made her so pale and ethereal; it really suits the 'innocence' of her character . I like that this is quite stylised too, they both look really 'otherworldly' (which I guess they should 
Also I like that Persephone is wearing a quite classic, beautiful dress but Hade's skeleton suit is sort of modern - it creates a nice contrast besides the obvious light/dark contrast of the piece

Haha, the modern/classic contrast is one that came up mainly because I can't draw men's clothes. But then I liked his skeleton shirt so much that he just had to keep it. I'm really glad it works!

I think my favorite thing about this is Persephone's hair, and how the plethora of lines you've used to portray it contrasts the simple planes of color that make up the background, her dress, etc.
