This piece brings to mind that this buck is a magical, fantastical, timeless being. It fades into canvas as gracefully as it's nature. The overall form of its features shows the viewer that it has been carefully crafted and placed in this piece from its master's imagination. To see the transitional flow from the mind to the page makes me feel a little closer to understanding the piece. But what really stands out is how the piece surrounds the eye like that is its most prized possession. The eye holds many interpretations, as you can see that is where its meaning is held, that much is clear. What its meaning is is left a mystery, what it's feeling you want to hunt down. You instantaneously tie yourself to the importance of the buck, you fall in love with the overwhelming illustriousness of it's heavenly beauty. You almost hope that buck is looking at you.
The coloring makes it surreal like a dream, the scratchy paint shows the rigidity of the bone in the antlers. The shading shows the individual hairs. It has been colored softly to give the feeling that it's a gentile creature, a good technique indeed.
And the buck says,"Here I am, becoming a part of the world.". And you wish that it wasn't a painting.

You're welcome, I'm glad you thought it was fair, really I wish I would've given a better rating on the technique. It's the technique that gives everything it's 5 stars and all. And don't worry about people saying it looks unnatural. No artist tolerates reality, art is about taking what you see or think and taking the realism and twisting it to show you didn't just leave your mark on the art world, you french kissed it!
