Description
So today is Celestia Day thanks to today also being the summer solstice! I couldn't really pass up the chance to draw Celly on her day, could I? Anyway, it has been a while since I last worked properly on some backgrounds or a drawing which had a theme or action in it, hence why I decided to not just go with an ordinary portrait but to kind of give myself a challenge to do something different- and let me tell you, I had a blast while doing this. There were a lot of things that were complicated to wrap my head around but I think I managed them alright. I hope you guys like the result!Comments are highly encouraged.

hey) so composition is ok but perspective need to be clean. Celly head is pretty big, but main thing - shadows. shadows dont rly work like you think) shadows have some color. hueshift is good tip for you. lights are nice - i can see some yellow on wings. you can add more depth by adding color or value (like on her feet) reflected light helps a lot to make ur image pop out)

The purist in me wants to critique, but I like it too much to pick it apart.
The hurt, the offense, the the agony of what she knows she must do. Makes you want to cry looking at it. I also love how you make Celestia look like she's younger. I mean it HAS been 1000+ years since Luna was banished. One HOPES she looks different after that much of time

It's funny you mention that since I didn't exactly aim for that detail on a conscious level but I guess I kinda did it in a subconscious way, maybe? But yeah, I mean it's been 1000 years. Not really your average life span.
