It looks like some type of Larch (genus Larix), the only deciduous conifer I know of. If in eastern Canada, it's the Easter Larch (Larix laricina) sometimes called the Tamarack.

Yes it is a photo. I forget the name of the tree, but it is one of the few conifers that turns yellow in fall / winter.
