I just use a mechanicalβ pencil, a pen and a sharpie

Ooohhhh . Ok lemme give some advice. Dont press so hard on the pencil. And go it light circles. Then. Once you do that, go back and make the areas you want darker. By doing the same thing.

This is probably one of your best drawings yet
Shading's not as hard as it looks. You should get it in no time, when you get the lighting down.
It's the editing phase that becomes hellish. Practice enough to avoid it at all costs.

In terms of quality, it's competing with your other deviation (your current icon).
Screwing around with the lighting will get you somewhere, eventually, lol.
