Description geez, my titles really do suck, ne? xD uh, just did this real quick last night. i got new brushes & watercolor paper, so i've really been wanting to paint. (and my finger was kind enough to let me do so) i didn't really have any idea what i wanted to paint so i just decided on Vincent's face & started painting. it's different than my usual style, too. it's a lot more loose in comparison to my normally tight art. i hardly even drew a sketch before i started painting. this was really just an experiment, but it was really fun. i should paint like this more often (heh, i should just paint period more often). everything's in watercolor, except for the outline of the eyes. i got a new inking pen, so i couldn't leave it out. ^^ scanner kinda made the skin yellowish, but it always does. uh, this is my second watercolor. any crits would be helpful.

Prang Watercolors on watercolor paper & inking pen
sadly, Vincent belongs to Square...not me

Very flowy, almost impressionist. I like it^^ Sorry, I can't give you many pointers about watercolors. I'm not very good at it cuz it's kind of a one shot deal. If you screw up, you can't really fix it. But man, I totally understand your comment about clicking the "undo" button in your mind. That happens to me all the time!!!!!!

lol yus, they need to make paper with an undo button. maybe in the future, yesss.... wow, actually i like watercolors for the opposite reason. i think they're actually fairly forgiving. maybe not as much as acrylics, but still. and you can make the colors and everything so smooth. hee. -^_^-

Only problem is you can't use undo when you make a mistake

ah, that is true. lol don't you hate it when you're drawing, & you make a mistake, & then in your mind you click the undo button? lol oh, but with watercolors, you can kind of erase. if you make a mistake either soak it up with paper towels real quick, or you can even use water. even after it's dry, if you just wet your brush, you can move the color around or sometimes(if the color is light enough) remove it.

Oh yeah, I tried using a tissue to "mop up" the paint, but I did it too often so the tissue got lots of different colours on it and then when I used it again, I just got all the colours that were already on the tissue onto my work! Maybe I should try having 2 or 3 on the go at once...
