I call it home, i feel safe,My sanctuary,
My peace,
I hate to leave,
I hate to stay,
The memories residing,
The memories of love,
of warmth and peace,
Of pain and sorrow,
Of neglect and then of rescue,
I departed,
my safe haven no longer the paradise i envisioned,
I wandered helpless,
seeking sunshine,
The love forgotten,
the warmth lost,
No rescue,
no sanctuary,
I saw an angel once,
Her face an image of light,
She smiled at me but then she left,
I tried to follow,
she seemed to laugh and dance,
To glide like water,
But I could not reach her,
I sighed,
she turned,
and winked at me,
And returned to her homeland.
