Wooh! The stuff I have been waiting for. I'm sorry you were ill; that's really not a very long time inbetween illnesses. Glad you are feeling better now.
Can't wait to see the Warden Commander. Nathaniel Howe maybe? Although I do think in my own custom universe in which my character is the Warden Commander and not Queen. Should I ever do some fan stuff (which I will most likely not; I feel horrible about using the characters of others in my stories), Mikania would probably be Alistair's Queen. Pairs well with my dislike of Anora. I really do not like her, what with offering to walk her own father to the gallows if I supported her bid for the throne during the Landsmeet. Loghaine was stone-cold paranoid, yes, but at least he held true to his values (enforced without a hint of rationality. Yay! I do like Loghaine, though. I think he is still important to Ferelden, even in death/disgrace).
You know, in my universe Weisshaupt only begrudgingly keeps Elethea (my Cousland lass) in office. They feel strongly that she is a liar, hungry for glory. After all, how could she still be alive after killing an Archdemon? Whereas Riordan is quite dead. Despite all witness testimony to the contrary, Riordan is the one the Wardens credit with killing the Archdemon and ending the Fifth Blight. You can imagine how well her reports about the Architect - an intelligent, talking Darkspawn - went over with those guys. She treats on very thin ice and she's wearing thermo boots. Personally, Elethea doesn't care as long as Weisshaupt keeps their correspondence to a minimum and doesn't seek to replace her (again). This has created quite the schism between the Wardens of Ferelden and the Wardens of everywhere else. But you know what they say: A Cousland always does her duty first.
Our stories couldn't be any more different. Kinda cool.

wow, your warden's story is quite interesting!!!
I don't like Anora either, and Mikania doesn't trust her at all, that's why she's imprisoned. Kill her would have made things worse for Alistair and Mikania, taking into account that they killed Loghain for his treason against Cailan. We all know that Loghain and his daughter had many followers.

Thank you. In my story, Alistair and Elethea don't get along at all because she is very pragmatic and all he does is act on impulse (at least in her opinion; the death of Loghain, for example, even though he ordered her family's death through Howe, is very regrettable in her eyes). She decided a lot of things over his head because she knew that he would disapprove. If she has any dealings with the Crown, she has them through Eamon (I suppose he's the Arl of Denerim now, since canon says he stayed there and Teagan inherited the Arling of Redcliffe due to Connor having been send to Kinloch Hold). Wonder what happened with Gwaren, though. Amaranthine belongs to Highever, and since both are being held by Couslands the shift in power is minimal at best. But Gwaren is a Teyrnir on its own, with its Arls and Banns. Quite the boon.
Heh. I wonder how Elethea and Mikania would get along. Elethea would probably be thankful that at least one of them knew how to run a kingdom, but she would not openly say so. As long as things run smoothly, there is no reason to flatter or accuse. Hard woman, she. Used to be a sweet lass, all manners and swordplay, but time - or the events that happened inside of it - have embittered her.
Keeping Anora alive doesn't make things any better for the same reason. Pick your poison. Only I assume that Anora's death would lead to a guerilla war to depose the rulers - which, let's face it, cannot be easy either. Even if a bastard, Alistair is a direct descendant of Calenhad, and the Couslands have always been well loved at court, so much so that people would have been in support of Bryce Cousland taking the throne instead of Cailan whom they thought of as fickle. A fool's talk back then, but it shows the love and respect the family enjoyed and there should be no reason why the Hero of Ferelden should garner any less. This is a strong royal couple you have there. Even with Anora dead, those working against the Crown would be looked upon no better than Meghren during the Orlesian Occupation. Also, technically Anora has no claim whatsoever on the throne. Her father was the Hero of Riverdane, yes - also an exposed traitor whose many crimes have been brought to light. Her mother, if memory serves, was a crofter's daughter. She is basically a commoner, married to Cailan through her father's ties with Maric and no more. With Cailan dead, who is she? She may be a shrewd politician, but choosing Anora would be choosing a commoner over royalty.
