Description
So here my vampire hunter character Mary. She isn't your traditional hunter either. She hunts them for pleasure...and when she catches one with a human lover she kills the human, too. So yeah, she's a bit psycho.She has strange powers as well, such as using the oxygen around her to fuel her spontaneous explosions of fire, she can use blood against her foes, making it harden into sharp unbreakable substances.
Meh, I have been kinda bleh as of late. So yeah, here's Mary.

Mainly because... well; manga-characters usually lack personality. I mean, check most mangas/animΓ©s. In PokΓ©mon; Ash, Brock and Misty got barely any personality at all; more than Ash wants to be the best pokΓ©mon master, Misty likes sea pokΓ©mons and to complain, and Brock is a pervy comic relief. In Yu-Gi-Oh... do I even have to say anything further? I suppose you get my point.^^
If not; my point is that I am sick of people creating characters, and not giving a shit about their personalities. BUT I usually do like you - first I draw them and think of what they do - and then match a personality after that.

Yeah, but some anime characters have deep characters same goes for other characters in other types of media/literature. For example, Ash may have a one tracked mind but at least he has WAY more character than Edward Cullen from Twilight. I think it's the person who makes the stories that determines the character's personality. I tend to like to think about my characters as I draw them, ALOT of times if I cannot come up with a personality I just drop the character.
