I find this piece to be very good, The purpose was to display a winter hero and I believe you've portrayed that in this piece very well. The anatomy is good, and you handled the foreshortening on his right arm well. I see that you made this hero look gritty and just a pretty boy hero, and I like that. He has the feel as though he has gone up against some terrible winters and has helped others in need through those winters. Don't know if this was intentional but he comes across a stern yet humble man that doesn't need a lot of thank you's just believes and helping others and getting the job done.
I applaud your technique, your approach to the weapons, armor, cloth, and bone is excellent. you can see the different textures in all the different materials easily, and they look great. My favorite part would have to be the bone helmet, I feel as though I can almost touch it, you've really captured the look of bone and really got the texture in there.
It would be cool to see more paintings of this character to see his heroic efforts. Overall excellent job!!
