Description I look at my bare room, seeing it without my messy junk all over it makes it look kinda nice. "Oh honey, you sure you have to go? I'm going to be so lonely." Granny pretended to cry and blow her nose on my shoulder. "Yes Granny, its a running start program for me, I could graduate a year earlier if I do well enough." I laughed picking up my bags. There was a loud bang at the front door. "Oh that's her." I opened the door, being tackled in the process. "Welcome to our family Roomy." Jessika giggled. "Um I need to load the car first." Jessika took most of the bags and ran to My beautiful freshly washed Jeep. Yes I love my car. "She seems like a nice girl." My grandma pat me on the shoulder. Jessika suddenly screamed. "Owwwww! My foot god damn it! I dropped the bag on my foot!" She jumped around, holding her foot, and fell. "She's also kinda ditzy." I laughed as I waved my hand goodbye to grandma and placed my bags in the drunk. "Can I drive? No one let's me drive." She frowned heavily. "Fine, but no scratches." I waved my fingure. Jessika is an ok driver its just that she goes too fast. I know, petty choice in who's side I chosen. And Jessika did kinda made me with the "You don't want to be just like your crazy mom right?" thing, but that's just not it. I want to use them, the abilities, which I have no clue what the are yet. I tried to move stuff with my mind, fly, lift heavy stuff, etc. Nothing yet. I wish it was simple as Spiderman. I wonder how Jessika discovered her powers. "Um, how did you find out about your powers?" She glanced at me with a serious face. "Long story short, I was pissed off, people got hurt, then the professor found me." Seeing my reaction, she continued. "But later down the line, it was just not me. Yes I sometimes help them with things but I'm not part of them." "Help? With what?" She laughed at me. "You live under a rock or what? New York is full of people like us. Professor brings them all here to learn to cope with their powers, but not use them for other things. That's why I left, I rather have people see me as I am, a mutant." I hate that word. It's as if we are a new race, and a hated one. "Hmm, how about syperhumans instead?" She looked at me with raised eye brows. "Well syper means to the highest quality or extreme degree. Having powers is extreme and we are still human so syperhumans sounds good." I blushed, I sounded stupid. "I like the highest quality part, ok let's go with that." She laughed. For ten more minutes we drove. Big classy part to what is know as the ghetto part of New York. Stopped at a giant old church that must have not seen a Sunday service in years. Windows, I assume had Jesus crap on it, were all cracked or completely gone. Broken boards and garbage covered it's surroundings. It was a dump. Ew, I think I saw rats run by. Jessika was already at the church doors before I came back from staring out into space about my new home. "Hey you might want to grab the rest of your bags." She disappeared into the church. Running after her, locking my car knowing this type of neighborhood, and was shocked how clean outside was compared to the inside. It was so bad that not even hobos would stay here. Jessika was down the isle, knocking on the alter. Maybe I made the wrong choice. A voice came on, nearly making me shit myself. "Hey Jessika! I mean what the password?" "Really Todd? Let me in! I got the new member." "No password no pass." Jessika kicked the alter. "We are having fried toad tonight if you don't let me in now!" The alter moved, showing stairs. "That's what I thought." She smirked as we walked down the steps. Who would have thought that there was a secret place like this in a dumpster church? Reaching the bottom of the steps, we were in a room that kind of reminded me of the air port bag check area. Except all the walls were made of metal, in fact the whole place was all metal. I'm guessing metal is cheap. A skinny white haired boy say at a desk with his feet up. He was admiring himself in his little mirror, then he looked up and he was suddenly in front of me. "Well hell-o." He winked. "She's not interested Peitro." Jessika pulled me on to a platform, she pressed a button and the floor began to move. "Commencing scans." A bright light came on and I was blind. "Jessika Grinaker. Level 2. Guest. Level 1.5" Level? "Don't worry, big sister Jessika will help you. You will be a level 2 in no time." She winked at me. "I bet you feel really smart." She laughed at my comment. The floor stopped and a big bolted door towered in front of us. "What's with all this security?" The door slid open after she placed her hand on it. "This is where we train. It's kinda based on the Proffessor's training hall, but Magneto helped with the school so I wouldn't call it stealing even though I did swipe the programs for him." The room was like a giant dome. On one side there was couches that two guys were sitting on playing games, tables, mini kitchen, and a vending machine. Score! Then on the opposite side, a window showed a regular gym. Huge computers stood near it. I could see people dodging things, doing under water training, and more I can't see. The rest of the room was made up of doors. "Who's Magneto?" I swear to god if she laughs at me again, Gosh! "He's this big time old mutant. He can control metal, he built this whole place." She put her hands in the air and twirled. "So where are our rooms?" My bags looked so out of place compared to this ultimate room. "Oh there is a dorm we stay at by the school, we'll go there later, you need to meet your mentor." She giggled. "Toad! Her bags, she my new roommate!" A boy, and I'm not joking, hopped over, all green and I hope it's his clothes that smell."You owe me." "Hey I didn't insult you now did I?" We walked toward the training area, through a door and straight down the hall way. In a new room, a man was playing with a deck of cards. "It's about time." Country accent filled the room. "I'm sorry, I had to show her around." Jessika placed her self in his lap. "Would you stop that." He frond. "Awe playing hard to get, I know you like-Ow!" He pushed her off and was now walking toward me with his hand extended. "Welcome to the brotherhood, nouvelle fille." He kissed my hand. His red eyes stared at me. Oh now I remember, he was the man at the hospital. "So do you know your special abilities are?" Jessika, now off the floor, sat in the chair backwards, officially sad from being denied. "Nope." I said trying to sound proudly. "Any odd experiences?" I let out a small laugh. "Boy, you don't know the half of it." I told him about my mother, then meetings with the professors, and how I tried to find my powers. My skid knee is proof I was trying more then goofing off. Hehe. "When your mom was hurting your dad, what did you feel?" I looked at him with raised I brows. "Uh, scared shittless?" "Besides that, when holding your dad's hand." Hmm. "I don't, kind of in control a little, something kinda build up inside me." "That's it. Try to get that again, focus." I sighed closing my eyes. Build up, build up, focus, focus. "Cool!" Jessika's voice spranged out. "Is something floating?" I opened one of my eyes. "No, but your eyes and hands are glowing!" I looked around and things looked, alittle weird. It was as if I were in that one painting that is made entirely out of just dots. Some were moving fast or slow or stood still. I walked up to the table. The dots were still. I wonder what would happen if I touched them. I poked them. They acted like when you push a stretched rubber band, they bounced back to place. I started slapping them. It was fun. "Maybe I could separate them." I spoke aloud. I put both my hands in and pulled them apart. A pat on my shoulder broke my amusement. "That's enough for today, nouvelle fille." Jessika's eyes were bugging out with excitement. "That was so cool!" I looked down to see a my hands in a hole in the table that wasn't there before. Then it hit me. "I feel really tired." I slid to the ground. My eyes became heavy. "Don't worry, you won't after a couple lessons." Jessika smiled, pulling me up. "We'll I'll see you later, My sweet Gambit." She charmed. "Hmm, goodbye ravissant."
