Description
This year the city of Łódź (PL) turns 600. For most of it's history it was a very tiny town, until it's population exploded in XIX century, thanks to the industrial revolution.

The name of the city is odd, because "Łódź" means in Polish "the boat", but there's no huge river or lake around. I like to joking the city of Łódź is always awaiting a waves high enough to be launched.
