Whenever I was taken to Adfly, a random pop-up from Google would say I have a virus. However, I wasn't sure if it was from the site's I've been using at those times but it has forced me to avoid URL shorteners in case I might actually HAVE a virus.
The pop-up goes like this:
"Your (Samsung Galaxy S9+, Motorola E5+, or any other smartphone) has a virus and you need to download an app to fix it. Please follow the steps below before the time runs out."
Not sure if this popup is just a random ad, but I treated it as such.

Figured it was a popup when I panicked and downloaded an "antivirus app" one time. After reading the bad reviews on that app, I immediately wrote a bad review and uninstalled it. As a smart*** remark, I even said "Thanks for the jumpscare!" in the review. 😶

Wasn't sure if it was an ad at the time, but it was enough to cause a jumpscare WITHOUT playing a horror videogame. 😅
