Sorry for the late reply it's an engine part but you can use the same concept for your parts m.youtube.com/watch?v=IYZOTt9zā¦
You can use talcum powder on the inside as well to increase the smoothness of your parts he tells you that in one of his newer tutorials

This is a beautiful book, should say all of your books are beautiful. I have a couple of questions when you have a moment. One, what is the price of this book using the weathered paper and 120 pages? Two, I am getting started with bookmaking; still learning by trial and error. Can you provide some resources or any other source I can learn proper methods of bookmaking?

I do love the depth of your cover designs. I to have thought of casting ornaments in resin. I will try this a bit later, if you don't mind me using the inspiration for my future work. I'm still new at book binding.

Not at all! Inspiration comes from everywhere! And bookbinding is a try and error process, you can read and watch tutorials all you want, its only when you have the books in your hands that the true learning process begin! Resin is a new thing for me, I still have to try more of it!

I'm a puppet and prop maker by trade mostly. I've used so many different materials but still come back to metal and leather as my favorite mediums. I did a project for a touring Titanic exhibition with a team of makers. We produced most of the detail on the staircase hand rails using a quick set resin. We made silicone molds and cast the pieces which set in 20 minutes. Some pieces were pulled from the molds and bent to shape before the resin set. Resin is wonderful medium to simulate so many kinds of effects. Trying to find similar materials over here is still in the process. You can also use found details and add to them before making a mold. I want to try this with found stuff from op shops. This is all so exciting.Ā
I've just added a couple more books to my gallery.
Must go now and make some books to sell or I won't online much longer. If your outgo is bigger than your income, your upkeep will be your downfall...........~
I't nice to make contact with a fellow book binder who doesn't run with the pack.
more later.
