I saw that Fairy Tail is a so complex story so how do you know the names of all character?

I allways had a good memory but I must say Hiro Mashima draw his charcter in a recognizable style, ther is always a detail (a ribbon in the hair, a scar, a hair cut...etc) which help to recognize the characters .

But how do you find his basic images?
Have you a book?
Is there a bank of his images?
Not so easy all this.
At the beginning in Fairy Tail Juvia doesn't appears but very later.

Thae manga has already 500 chapters and I don't know how many episodes, then naturally there is a lot o images, type Fairy tail on google, there is alos the wikia about Fairy Tail which descrivbe each characters, each arc of the story. I have the mangas.
