And I'm pretty sure her name is Yuuhi in Japanese, and in the English anime they just cut out the extra u.

I think it's because in Japanese the 2 u's makes it a long 'u' sound and in English it just looks grammatically incorrect. O_O ..Or at least, that's what my Japanese class taught me. >_>
